Badge - 37688 Great Rocks

Enamel brooch backed metal badge. Size approx. across: 4.5cm

Built in 1963 at the Vulcan Foundry in Newton-le-Willows as D6905. ‘Great Rocks’ was initially sent to Llandore in Wales, later moving to Cardiff Canton, then Polmadie and Eastfield. In 1973, the loco was renumbered 37205 following the introduction of TOPs. Later on, in 1986, it was renumbered 37688 and saw use on the mainline until 2017 when it was preserved by the D05 Preservation Limited. The loco arrived on the NYMR in 2025 to help boost our Whitby fleet, and remains on hire to us today.
